Internal medicine department
Internal medicine Service is an IPD (In Patient Department) service designed for caring patients above 15 years old with acute pathologies or chronic diseases. Hospitalized patients are vised daily by specialists doctors or medical doctors accompanied by nurses who provide care as recommended by doctors. Doctors in ward round evaluate patient’s evolution by analysing results from laboratory or recommend treatment changes for curative cares. There are a separated ward for women and men at Rwinkwavu DH.
Service delivered at RWINKWAVU DH Internal medicine:
- Patient care management and orientation;
- Patient Education session on behaviour change regarding to diseases prevention; patient right and responsibilities;
- Following of ARV patients;
- Curative cares
- TB isolation
- Palliative cares
- Re-evaluation and Follow-up of patients with chronic diseases in ward round tour.
- Laboratory order for illness investigation;
- Sampling and accompanying the patients;
- Radiology order for illness investigation;
- Drugs order and administration;
- Transfer to referral hospitals for more investigation;
- Bed making ;
- Post mortem care;
- Counselling;
- Rescustation for critical cases;
